How to get along with Chinese students?

As the saying goes, teeth and tongue will also fight. It can be difficult for Chinese teachers to avoid problems with students, not to mention for foreign teachers from other countries. It is inevitable that they will encounter various problems. These problems may be habitual problems, or they may be contradictions in learning and life. If these problems cannot be solved, it will affect the subsequent learning and getting along. First of all, Anna respects the students very much. Many teachers will stand in the direction of a “ruler” and issue orders to students. However, this often leads to students’ rebellious psychology. The students saw that  and they were helping her, and Anna did not refuse the good intentions of the students. Instead, she tried to use chopsticks and narrowed up the gap with the students.

Fourthly, even if it is perfect to get along with each other, it will inevitably lead to contradictions. How to solve problems when contradictions arise? Let’s talk about Anna as an example. After a stage examination, the grades of Anna’s class were very poor, especially the English class representative Jerry. Anna was a little angry. In the class, she blamed Jerry for his careless study. Jerry was very unhappy, and didn’t say a word the whole class. Anna felt that her behavior was inappropriate and hurt the student’s self-respect. So after class, she called out Jerry to outside. She first apologized to him, and then patiently asked him about the recent situation. When she knew that Jerry had no energy to study because of taking care of the sick mother, Anna took the initiative to go to Jerry’s home to help him with study. Soon after, not only did Jerry’s grades improve, but the distance between the students and Anna was also closer. Therefore, being able to properly handle contradictions can not only solve problems but also have unexpected effects.
